The Firearm

What's Required

-Please make sure you fully read and understand these requirements.  -It is critical to your safety and being allowed to participate in the course. Bringing the wrong firearm or ammunition can result in it being disqualified from use in the class.

Compact or Full size, Semiautomatic centerfire pistols (eg. 380auto, 9mm, 40S&W, 45acp),  barrel length of 3.6”-6” and that holds 13+ round magazines.  Your firearm should have a trigger pull weight of 4lbs. or greater. Triggers under the 4lb. pull weight are subject to disqualification from the class. We strongly recommend bring a back-up firearm in case of

We require at least 3 magazines and the kydex/polymer pouches on your belt to hold them, with capacity of 13+ rounds at minimum, but suggest bringing at 4-6+ magazines as you may need backup if any fail. Other less common centerfire calibers that are acceptable are 38 Super, 10mm, 5.7.  If you are unsure whether your caliber is acceptable, or if you have a special circumstance you'd like to talk to us about, please don't hesitate to email us with your question.

This class typically runs up to 1000 rounds or more during the 3 days. Each class is different, and may require additional or unexpected one on one instruction with multiple students and their selection of firearms and gear they bring, which can limit the overall round count.

No factory or home reloaded ammo allowed, no hollow points and no magnums.  Please, also avoid steel and aluminum cased rounds, as these can induce malfunctions in some firearms.

Students who decide not to bring the required or recommended equipment can become a time drain for themselves and the class, reducing the over all training time and round count.

- At this class we do not allow revolvers.

This is not a concealed carry class.

- No subcompacts or micros allowed, eg: Walther PPS, Sig P365, Canik MC9, S&W Shield, etc... or similar not allowed. These models are so small they can get swallowed up in most hands, resulting in difficulty seeing finger and hand positions in a group/line training situation. This group of firearms is also easier to inadvertantly induce malfunctions especially among those who have not had a lot of regular training time with them.  No one wants to be on a firing line with multiple people dealing with malfunctions throughout the class, as well as resulting in limiting the training time for the class.

Again, if you have questions about the size/model of firearm you wish to bring, please contact us well in advance of the class.

Everything we teach, you will be able to take away with you after the class is over and use in your own training regimen with your concealed carry firearm of choice. With only slight modifications to the draw techniques we teach, this can be done dry (unloaded - recommended) at the appropriate places you train at, and at your own pace.

Other common centerfire calibers that will work just fine is 10mm, 5.7, no Magnums!  If you are unsure whether your caliber is acceptable, or if you have a special condition or limitation you'd like to talk to us about, please don't hesitate to email us with your question.  No factory or home reloaded ammo allowed and no hollow points.  Please, also avoid steel and aluminum cased rounds, as these can induce malfunctions in some firearms.

Please make sure you clean and check all firearms and gear fully before coming to class. Sight in and verify secure attachment of all optics and iron sights. Valuable training time is lost to the individual and the class when a students gear malfunctions.

Rentals and/or sales for most Equipment needed are available on an advanced request basis.

Please email us well in advance to check stock and availability of any equip you may need.

(Firearms and components not available for sale)

No small sub compacts/micro 9’s or concealed carry guns allowed.
