The Safety Gear

Your Eyes and Ears will thank you!

The following list of "safety gear" is required by the Hosting Range and/or Quantum Defense LLC. It is for your personal safety so you can enjoy your time training.

Safety Glasses: - Required

  • z.81 certified or better
  • A clear pair & tinted pair is suggested for a variety of lighting conditions.
  • regular reading or prescription glasses not allowed by themselves but you can use over goggles on top of your prescriptions/readers.

Electronic Hearing Protection: - Required

  • Electronically amplified Shooting Muffs or Buds required, In order to clearly hear Instructor, and to be better aware of everything happening around you.
  • NO passive muffs or foam plugs as the primary protection allowed.
  • while many hosting ranges do not require "electronic" muffs, Quantum Defense LLC does for all their training, and recommends them for your own training as well.

Other: - Required

- Closed toe shoes or hikers (no river type sandals, flip flops, crocs, etc... allowed)

- Hat with brim (deflecting hot brass from getting in safety glasses, and down your shirt)

Suggested:

- tourniquet

- first aid kit

- shooting gloves

- scarf/beanie/ warming layers if colder temps

- Range bag - Of course you will need something to put all this gear in, to be organized, and protect your investment of firearm & gear.  While any kind of bag can hold your gear, we suggest a "dedicated range bag" that is specifically designed for firearms and their components.

Pistol Envelope - Hosting range requires the use of a dedicated case or pistol envelope (with no ammo in it) when transferring a firearm, (at a "safety" table) into your holster at the beginning of training day and back out again at the end of training.

Appropriate range/work clothing, including hat with brim to keep hot brass from getting stuck in your safety glasses and it helps to keep that hot brass from falling down into shirts.

Pants/shorts need easy access (think "cargo" type) to multiple pockets for extra magazines and loose ammo for possible mag reloading while on the firing line. "5.11" and "First Tactical" among many others have really good pants and clothing lines for both women and men.

While carrying a tourniquet (and how to use it) is not required, it is recommended as a regular part of your safety gear every time you go training/practicing.

The hosting range (as well as Quantum Defense) does have a first aid kit available.

We encourage everyone who trains/practices with firearms to create/purchase their own first aid kits and have them available whenever they may train.

Cash for required Hosting Range daily range user fees. Check Hosting Range website and or email Quantum Defense for accurate prices. Again, this is for the Hosting range.

Rentals and/or sales for most Equipment needed are available on an advanced request basis.

Please email us well in advance to check stock and availability of any equip you may need.
